Description:

  • An excessively low voltage detected from the oxygen sensor

Possible Symptoms:

  • Engine will enter fail-safe mode and shut down within one minute

  • The vehicle will not start if the fuel is frozen from extreme cold, or if there is water in the fuel

  • Car dies while stopped

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2

  • Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 harness is open or shorted

  • Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 circuit poor electrical connection

  • Inappropriate fuel pressure

  • Faulty fuel injectors

  • Intake air leaks may be faulty

  • Exhaust gas leaks

Related Parts:

  • Oxygen Sensor: This is one of the parts that fails very commonly. It measures the amount of oxygen to ensure proper combustion. Problems in the Oxygen Sensor lead to poor fuel economy

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace oxygen (O2) sensors

  • Test the circuit of the flex fuel sensor with a digital multimeter

  • Inspect the wiring and electrical terminals of the flex fuel sensor
