Description:

  • The fault code P0056 indicates that there is an issue with the circuit that controls the oxygen sensor heater for bank 2, sensor 2. This may cause the vehicle to fail an emissions test and run poorly or not start at all.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Vehicle fails an emissions test

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Poor engine performance

  • Reduced fuel economy

Possible Causes:

  • Failed oxygen sensor

  • Faulty wiring or connections in the circuit

  • Loose or corroded electrical connections

  • Failed engine control module (ECM)

Related Parts:

  • Heated Oxygen Sensor: This is one of the parts that fails very commonly. It measures the amount of oxygen to ensure proper combustion. Problems in the Oxygen Sensor lead to poor fuel economy
