Illuminated Check Engine Light (CEL)
Reduced engine power or acceleration
Engine stalling or hesitation during acceleration
Decreased fuel economy
Rough idling or engine misfires
Potential difficulty in starting the engine
Malfunctioning MAP sensor
Malfunctioning barometric pressure sensor
Wiring issues in the MAP/barometric pressure sensor circuit
PCM software malfunction or failure
Vacuum leak
Restricted or clogged intake air duct or air filter
Failed EGR valve
Barometric (BARO) Pressure Sensor: The barometric sensor is responsible for measuring the atmospheric pressure of the environment that the car is driving in. Problems lead to engine misfire & poor fuel economy
Manifold Pressure Sensor: Manifold Pressure sensor measures the pressure of air flowing in the engine from outside to ensure proper fuel combustion. This car's malfunctioning pressure sensor will lead to engine misfire, poor fuel economy & rough running
Inspect and repair any damaged or corroded wiring in the MAP/barometric pressure sensor circuit.
Replace the faulty MAP or barometric pressure sensor.
Replace the PCM if it is determined to be faulty.
Verify proper functioning of the EGR valve.
Check for restrictions or clogs in the intake air duct and air filter and replace if necessary.
