P0147

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0147 is indicating that there is low voltage output from the oxygen sensor circuit for bank 1, sensor 3. This could cause the engine to run poorly, decrease fuel efficiency and increase emissions.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Decreased fuel efficiency

  • Poor engine performance

  • Check engine light may illuminate

  • Increased emissions

Possible Causes:

  • Failed oxygen sensor

  • Bad electrical connection within the circuit

  • Corroded or damaged wiring

  • Failed engine control module (ECM)

Related Parts:

  • Oxygen Sensor: This is one of the parts that fails very commonly. It measures the amount of oxygen to ensure proper combustion. Problems in the Oxygen Sensor lead to poor fuel economy

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace the oxygen sensor

  • Inspect the wiring and connections for any damage or corrosion and repair or replace as needed

  • Replace the engine control module (ECM) if necessary
