Description:

  • Problem with the Airflow sensor in Diesel engines

Possible Symptoms:

  • Engine may be hard starting

  • Engine stall

  • Engine may die

  • Engine Limp Mode Failsafe Mode)

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty mass air flow sensor

  • Intake air leaks

  • Dirty mass air flow sensor

  • Dirty mass air filter

  • Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted The MAF Sensor is unplugged or the wiring is damaged

  • Loose or corroded electrical terminals in the MAF Sensor circuit

  • Faulty MAF sensor

Related Parts:

  • Diesel Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor: Cars take air from outside and pass it into the engine through the air filter. The diesel airflow sensor measures the amount of air entering the diesel engine. Problems lead to rough engine running and stalling

Possible Solutions:

  • Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner
