2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0338 indicates that there is a high input signal from the crankshaft position sensor 'A' circuit. This may cause the engine to run poorly or not start at all.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Engine may not start

  • Engine may stall or run roughly

  • Reduced engine power or acceleration.

Possible Causes:

  • Failed or faulty crankshaft position sensor

  • Corrosion on the sensor connector

  • Damaged wiring or connectors in the circuit

  • Failed engine control module (ECM)

Related Parts:

  • Crankshaft Position Sensor: The crankshaft position sensor monitors the position of the crankshaft to regulate fuel injection. Problems lead to engine misfire and engine stalling

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace the crankshaft position sensor

  • Clean or replace corroded sensor connectors

  • Check and repair damaged wiring or connectors in the circuit

  • Replace the engine control module (ECM) if necessary
