Torque Converter Clutch: The torque converter allows shifting gears in an automatic transmission. It is the equivalent of a clutch in manual transmission system. The torque converter clutch creates a connection between the engine output and the transmission input. Problem leads to decreased fuel economy
Replace the torque converter clutch solenoid valve
Check and replace dirty or low transmission fluid
Replace the malfunctioning torque converter
Check and repair any damaged wiring or connectors in the torque converter clutch circuit
Replace the transmission control module (TCM) if necessary
