P0970

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0970 indicates that there is an issue with the circuit controlling the pressure control solenoid 'C' resulting in low pressure. This may cause the transmission to shift poorly, overheat or not engage at all.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Poor shifting or slipping gears

  • Overheating transmission

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Harsh or delayed engagement

Possible Causes:

  • Failed or faulty pressure control solenoid 'C'

  • Damaged or corroded wiring in the circuit

  • Loose or poor electrical connections in the circuit

  • Failed transmission control module (TCM)

Related Parts:

  • Pressure Control Solenoid: This solenoid regulates the oil flow in the transmission. Problems with this solenoid lead to engine misfire, poor fuel economy, poor acceleration

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace faulty pressure control solenoid 'C'

  • Inspect and repair any damaged wiring or connections

  • Tighten or clean any loose or corroded electrical connections

  • Replace transmission control module (TCM) if necessary
