P0984

2017-10-10

Description:

  • “The fault code P0984 indicates that there is a high circuit voltage detected by the transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch E. This may cause issues with the transmission such as poor shifting or failure to shift at all.”

Possible Symptoms:

  • Poor shifting or failure to shift gears

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Harsh shifting or transmission slipping

  • Reduced fuel efficiency

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch E

  • Wiring or connections in the circuit are damaged or corroded

  • Loose or damaged electrical connections in the circuit

  • Failed transmission control module (TCM)

Related Parts:

  • Shift Solenoid: It helps to change gears in automatic transmission cars. A bad solenoid causes difficulty in shifting gears

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace the transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch E

  • Check and repair any damaged or corroded wiring or connections in the circuit

  • Tighten or replace any loose or damaged electrical connections in the circuit

  • Replace the transmission control module (TCM) if necessary
